In addition to maintaining a strong commitment to land stewardship, LHF builds strong commitments to its landlords and business partners.  “We have a fairly broad spectrum of landlords,” says Blake, “including distant relatives, retired farmers, absentee landlords, and farm management companies.  As a result, we are very flexible in the types of arrangements we operate with.  We rent land with crop share and cash rental agreements.  We also use several flexible cash rents that include provisions for yield and/or price variability.”
