Lanehaven
Farms, Inc. (LHF) is a progressive family owned and operated corn, soybean, and
hog farm located just south of Waterloo, IA.
The operation currently farms approximately 4,000 acres and markets
roughly 26,000 hogs per year.
LHF is owned and operated by Curtis and Betty Hollis and son, Blake.
Curt’s father, J. Gordon Hollis, established the farm in 1947.
Curt graduated from Iowa State University in 1967.
Two years after graduating with his BS in Dairy Science, he sold the
dairy herd and got into hog production. Curt
and Betty have enjoyed the hog business for over thirty years now and have seen
it evolve tremendously during that time.
Blake graduated from Iowa State with a BS in Agricultural Business in 1996.
Blake’s wife, Sally, is manager of
materials at John Deere
Engine Works and holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Iowa State.
Blake and Sally received MBA’s from the University of
Northern Iowa in May 2001.
